Mouth-Watering Watermelon Jalapeño Margaritas
The Perfect Summer Cocktail
Watermelon Jalapeño Margaritas
This article highlights my favourite, mouth-watering, thirst quenching Watermelon Jalapeño Margaritas
After discovering the wonder of tequila at a wedding where palomas flowed all night, I became determined to explore the world of tequila-based cocktails to satisfy my newfound love for this magical drink. I started with the classic paloma and quickly progressed to the iconic margarita.
To create the perfect cocktail, I learned that using fresh juice is essential. It requires a bit more effort, but the difference it makes is truly worth it. After some experimentation, I have discovered the perfect ratio for my Watermelon Jalapeño Margaritas, and I have even calculated how much juice one watermelon will produce, making this recipe easier for you to follow.*
The fresh watermelon juice gives this drink an irresistible thirst-quenching quality, while the addition of jalapeño adds a subtle kick that slows down the urge to gulp it down too quickly. My guests always appreciate the surprise of the jalapeño, and they are left feeling grateful for a cocktail that satisfies their thirst and tantalizes their taste buds.

To make the most of our day in Palm Springs, we began by exploring some of its unique and eclectic neighborhoods. We started in the beautiful neighborhoods of Little Tuscany and Old Las Palmas, where we were able to admire the stunning architecture and beautiful homes. The mid-century modern style of the buildings is a hallmark of Palm Springs and is not to be missed. You can put “West Cielo Drive” or “West Vista Chino” into your GPS as a good starting point
MAKe IT A MOCKTAIL
After sampling a variety of Tequila alternatives at The Sobr Market, I settled on Ritual’s Zero Proof Tequila Alternative as my favourite substitute. You can replace the Cointreau with a splash of fresh orange juice or a couple of drops of orange bitters.

Watermelon Jalapeño Margaritas
Equipment
- Blender
- Strainer
- Citrus Juicer Reamer
- Cocktail Shaker
- Muddle
Materials
- Tajin Seasoning
- Salt
- 1 Mini Seedless Watermelon 4 cups watermelon juice
- Limes 8 oz lime juice
- Jalapeño
- 12 oz Tequila
- 4 oz Cointreau
Instructions
Prep
- Begin by washing and cutting the jalapeño. If you desire a milder spice level, consider removing the seeds. Combine the prepared jalapeño pieces with the tequila in a covered container or sealed bottle. Allow to infuse over a span of a few hours; keep in mind that the steeping duration will influence the intensity of the spice. Alternatively, if time is limited, feel free to bypass this step and proceed with muddling the jalapeño as instructed.
- Dice the watermelon into cubes and transfer them to a blender. Once blended, strain the watermelon juice into a pitcher and store it in the refrigerator until it's time to enjoy. While the peak freshness of watermelon juice is when it's freshly made, you can still enjoy up to three days when tightly sealed and refrigerated.
- Squeeze limes with citrus juicer reamer and store juice sealed in the refrigerator.
Garnish
- Select your glasses of choice and rim with a lime wedge of agave syrup.
- Mix Tajin seasoning and salt to a plate, and rim glassware.
- Fill glasses with ice.
